Real-Time Restoration of Nonstationary Biomedical Signals under Additive Noises

چکیده
In the present paper we shall examine the real-time restoration of biomedical signals under additive noises. Biomedical signals measured by instruments such as catheter manometers, ambulatory electrocardiographs and thermo-dilution sensors are susceptible to distortion and noise. Therefore, such signals must be restored to their original states. In the present study, nonstationary biomedical signals are observed and described using a mathematical model, and several restoration filters that are composed of a series of applications of this model are proposed. These filters restored band-limited approximations of the original signals in real-time. In addition, redundancy is introduced into these restoration filters in order to suppress additive noise. Finally, an optimum filter that accounts for restoration error and additive noise is proposed. key words: restoration, band-limitation, real-time, additive noise, redundancy

Image Restoration with Mixed or Unknown Noises
This paper proposes a simple model for image restoration with mixed or unknown noises. It can handle image restoration without assuming any prior knowledge of the noise distribution. It is particularly useful for solving real life image restoration problems, since under various constraints, images are always degraded with mixed noise and it is impossible to determine what type of noise is invol...
متن کاملReducing Noises and Artifacts Simultaneously of Low-Dosed X-Ray Computed Tomography Using Bilateral Filter Weighted by Gaussian Filtered Sinogram
Existing sinogram restoration methods cannot handle noises and nonstationary artifacts simultaneously. Although bilateral filter provides an efficient way to preserve image details while denoising, its performance in sinogram restoration for low-dosed X-ray computed tomography LDCT is unsatisfied. The main reason for this situation is that the range filter of the bilateral filter measures simil...

Needless to say, the signal detection is one of the most important problems in the signal processing area for a long time, and a great deal of investigations has been done up to the present time. Most of the conventional approaches are based on the (binary) hypothesis-testing, and treat the corrupting (additive) noise as a stationary random process because stationary process is rather easy to h...
متن کاملRobust time-frequency distributions
Study of the additive Gaussian noise influence on time-frequency (TF) distributions is an important issue [Article 9.1]. However, in many practical applications, especially in communications, signals are disturbed by a kind of impulse noise. These noises are commonly modeled by heavy-tailed (long-tailed) probability density functions (pdfs) [6]. It is well known fact that the conventional TF di...
